Privacy and Subscriptions
Subscribing is a request to receive The Wine Reference's future publications and launch announcement. We use the name and email you provide to identify your subscription and send these communications.
The optional fields help us understand how you found The Wine Reference and respond to your comments. A phone number is not required; providing one does not authorise marketing by phone or WhatsApp. We do not commit to a fixed sending schedule.
How Subscriptions Work
The form asks for your name, email and agreement to receive communications. Your phone number, how you found The Wine Reference and comments are optional. Your request is sent as an encrypted message to the mailbox responsible for subscriptions. No website account is created.
The confirmation shown after submission means your request has been forwarded. The mailing list is managed separately. Visiting the site alone does not trigger email communications.
Contact Messages
The contact form asks for your name, email and message so we can respond to your request. These details are also sent in an encrypted message. Contacting us does not subscribe you to The Wine Reference's communications.
How We Use Data
Your request is encrypted in your browser before it is sent. The hosting and email providers help transmit it. The hosting provider may keep technical access logs, such as network addresses and timestamps, for operation and security.
Abuse-prevention controls use temporary technical identifiers. Form fields are not stored as readable text on the form server. Optional Google Analytics measurement is described below.
Cookies and Visit Analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. It may process browsing data, device information and cookie identifiers. Google participates in this processing, which may take place in other countries. Analytics is not required to use the site or its forms. We do not send form contents to Analytics or enable advertising features. You can accept, decline or change your choice through Cookie Preferences in the footer. Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days; analytics cookies are configured to last up to 180 days. Withdrawing permission stops analytics in this browser and removes cookies accessible to the site. Withdrawal does not automatically delete data previously received by Google.
Unsubscribing
You can request to unsubscribe using the form below. If you have already received an email from us, you can also reply to request removal. Your request will be forwarded for processing; unsubscribing does not take effect immediately.

Preferences and Retention
Your name and email are added to the list only for the communications you request. Phone numbers and comments are not automatically used in campaigns. The details you submit remain in the message received by The Wine Reference and are used to manage your request. An unsubscribe request stops future messages once processed. Consent and request records may be retained to administer this relationship.
